Find genuine Honda spare parts for your motorcycle at the best prices on the market. In 1952 Honda Motor Co began building motorcycles of its own. That same year it launched the Cub, a small, economical machine that sent the company's sales soaring. Many went on to call the Cub the Japanese "Model T". At every step and in every venture, Soichiro Honda showed that he had no taste for the well-trodden path. He always wanted the new, the pioneering. He wanted to hear the ideas of his associates and his staff, and he tried to give them the incentive to speak freely and exchange views on the work in front of them. Tellingly, he did not shut himself away in an office: he moved among his employees so that he could see them, advise them, and be felt as one of them. Racing: Honda kept travelling and watching races, "spying" on the competition's machines. He would then collect the findings and hand them to his engineers, asking them to go beyond the established practice in every area. That approach carried his company to the top of international racing, which in turn brought a large rise in sales. In 1959 Honda was Japan's number one in sales with 285,000 units. Two years later it was selling 100,000 units a month. That same year (1959) it began operating in the USA, where by 1963 it took the top of the sales charts. Today the company that started building vehicles of its own barely 50 years earlier is the world's No. 1 motorcycle manufacturer (and first in the MotoGP championship) and the 9th largest carmaker, having given the industry leading technological solutions and ideas (VTEC engines, active four-wheel steering, hybrid cars, FCX fuel cells and much more), while more recently it entered an entirely new field for it: aeronautics. Most importantly, though, Honda keeps its founder's philosophy intact — a philosophy built on offering reliable and, above all, technologically advanced products.
